Syntomus truncatellus
I found this by suction not long after finding my first Syntomus foveatus. Although sufficiently similar to that for me to initially suspect I'd found another of the same species, as soon as I took a closer look it became obvious that it was different. The discal punctures on the foveatus had been easy to see and highlighted by the pits they were set it - on this it was hard to see punctures at all and there certainly were no fovae. The shape of the pronotum was different and the tibia (and tarsi) were clearly brown contrasting with the black femora. Hackston says that the first segment of the antennae should be slightly paler - it was slightly, but this wasn't as easy to see as I expected (not as obvious as the paler tibia) and the second segment was similar. The elytral sculpturing was different to the foveatus - not vastly different in shape but flatter so less conspicuous.
