Laodelphax striatella

This species is listed as Notable A with very few dots on the map at the NBN Atlas. However this probably isn't a good reflection of its current status (I'm told that it's reasonably frequent in the Brecks for example). It has been known as Laedelphax striatellus, and the RES key includes it as Delphacodes striatella.

This came to light. I used the RES key to identify it, as well as checking it against both the German books. The RES key has female macropters as being from 3.6mm to 4.3mm but this was only 3.2mm long. This concerned me at first but Biedermann & Niedringhaus have a range of 3.0mm to 4.8mm for macropters. The latter doesn't differentiate between males and females as it does for brachypters.
