Nimbus obliteratus

Formerly placed withini the genus Aphodius and then known as Aphodius obliteratus.

This came to LED lights. I would have identified it using Mike Hackston's keys, but I've just tried keying it out using Duff (from the photos and without the specimen) and I think it leads to obliteratus there too. This is a scarcer species than Nimbus contaminatus which I haven't encountered yet (or, based on my three records, is obliteratus just overlooked due to a tendency to fly late in the year?).

This one came to light in my garden. I used Duff to key it which went smoothly. The only thing that slowed me down slightly was the supporting character of erect hairs on the clypeus - these are tiny and it took me a while to see them.

This one also came to light in my garden.
