Small Spot-eye Eristalinus sepulchralis

Several flies buzzing around low over the water near the edge of a pond caught the attention of three of us, and after quite a few unsuccessful attempts one of us caught this one. It was identified in the field as Eristalinus sepulchralis. The only focused in-pot photo I managed is pretty awful, so I will look out for these in future with a view to obtaining better photos.
